that was the time
(Paolo Bazzana)
Evening blunted the far away rocks,
and tall stoves dancing on a long saloon,
dim down there were scratched of lights
thin glasses between cold and warm
people and objects soaked up the sound
while darkness was listening outside
we were something like pieces of ground
we were old songs that nobody wrote
She was not so far, but she could not hear
She was round the corner and she could not feel that
That was the time to ask for forgiveness
That was the time to start from beginning
That was the time to say something new
To let her know what I mean for
To let her know what I mean for (true)
Eyes were calm, intentions were light
Adults were listening, boys could talk
Importance was jumping up and down the stage
Nothing was exact, almost seemed ok
Waiters could slow down the boss was reckonin’
A worn out cook got out of the kitchen
To take a little chair and hear about secrets
Nothing was exact, almost seemed ok
There all the voices obtained attentions
While guitars were telling it to the blind man
That was the time to ask for forgiveness
That was the time to start from beginning
That was the time to say something new
To let her know what I mean for
To let her know what I mean for (true)
Morning sound wasn’t still to rise
Headlights drove me through the bends
touch her hands just for a while
And think I’ll tell you another time
