| Dragon Cove nasce come forum nel lontano 2001, successivamente si trasforma in un sito di moto per aiutare un amico, quando l'amico trova casa il sito si sdoppia e Dragon Cove genera Dragon Motoforum ad esso collegato da un link.
Ora Dragon Cove ・un forum enorme ma con tante parti nascoste, (come la sezione moto interamente parzialmente copiata nel Motoforum) parla di tutto e ha sezioni che attraverso vari collegamenti sembrano altri forum, spazia da informazioni sul Giappone nella parte chiamata Nihon, alle moto alla cucina etnica di Sunflower, alle semplici chiacchere o ai viaggi e agli animali..... |

| LA COSTELLAZIONE DEL DRAGO |

| E' una costellazione molto estesa, posta tra le 9 e le 21 ore di ascensione retta ed occupa ben 1083 gradi quadrati. La sua testa è posta a nord-est di Vega, la brillante alfa della Lira ed è delineata da quattro stelle.
Il corpo si snoda quindi verso nord-est in direzione di Cefeo (alla quale costellazione, con la moderna delimitazione delle costellazioni per meridiani e paralleli, ha ceduto alcune sue stelle, come le 77 e 78 di Flamsteed). Poi ritorna indietro, aggirando l'Orsa Minore, insinuandosi tra questa e l'Orsa Maggiore, mentre la sua coda punta verso la Giraffa.
La caratteristica meglio individuabile è senz'altro la testa, anche perché contiene tre tra le stelle più brillanti dell'asterismo. Ricordiamo che la gamma, la più vicina a Vega, è celebre perché Bradley, nel tentativo di misurarne la parallasse, scopri nel 1725 il fenomeno dell'aberrazione della luce, una delle prime prove positive dei moto della Terra attorno al Sole; successivamente, nel 1737 individuava pure il fenomeno della nutazione dell'asse terrestre, una piccola oscillazione che si effettua in diciotto anni e due terzi circa, dovuta all'attrazione lunare e che si sovrappone alla precessione, di periodo molta maggiore.
E' probabile che questa figura sia stata immaginata dopo quelle delle due Orse, fors'anche per riempire i vuoti; in ogni caso il risultato di collegare stelle molto disperse in cielo tramite una figura sinuosa è stato senz'altro felice. Ecco quindi sorgere la figura del Drago, forse quello posto a guardia del giardino delle Esperidi e che venne ucciso da Ercole. L'origine non è però affatto sicura, anche se, sotto la testa dei Drago appare la figura di Ercole; il fatto è che il nome di Ercole, come vedremo nella scheda ad esso dedicata, apparve in tempi relativamente recenti.

| I Draghi sono sicuramente le bestie mitologiche più conosciute in tutto il mondo e più studiate, ma quello che tutti si chiedono è ma sono esisti o no???
Molti animali mitologici sono esistiti e molti altri ancora esistono, un esempio sono i serpenti marini giganti; negli ultimi 100 anni se ne sono avvistati parecchi enormi, serpenti con la testa di drago sbucare dal mare, farsi 300 metri in 20 secondi devastanto alberi e case e tornare in acqua per poi sparire; ebbene chissà quante crature e specie non conosciamo si nascondono nelle profondità marine dove l'uomo non è ancora arrivato. Dobbiamo comunque tenere presente che certe scoperte non verranno mai divulgate dalle autorità competenti per diversi motivi.
I Draghi sono stati descritti e raccontati da diversi popoli in diversi luoghi assai distanti tra loro nel medesimo momento il che specifica che non è una leggenda tramandata e divulgata con il tempo dai vari popoli, partendo dall'Asia ad esempio fino in Europa.
Sui draghi ci sono testimonianze della loro presenza in ogni era ma spicca l'immagine del drago nel medioevo per poi svanire nel nulla definitivamente.
I Draghi erano senza dubbio rettili, il fatto che sputavano fuoco sembra fisiologicamente impossibile tralasciando le diverse ipotesi la più ascoltata è quella di una sostanza corrosiva incendiaria presente nelle ghiandole salivarie sotto la gola una volta espulsa era in grado di bruciare e corrodere diversi materiali.
Alcuni serpenti del Sud America solo in estremo caso di difesa espellono un potentissimo veleno dalla bocca che hanno situato appunto sotto la gola capace di corrodere la carne che spesso li porta alla morte.
Non sono mai stati trovati reperti archeologici scheletrici di draghi anche se molto somiglianti di ossatura ai dinosauri...bisogna comunque tenere conto che diversi dinosauri sono sopravissuti al ipotetico meteorite schiantatosi sulla terra milioni di anni fa che li estinse nell'arco dei secoli e che molti esemplari hanno vissuto accanto alla scimmia fino alla sua completa evoluzione di homo-sapiens sapiens e chissà che certi "Nessie" ancora non possano esistere...in fondo potrebbero vivere nelle più remote e profonde insenature oceaniche, non pensate anke voi ? |

| There are no good dragons in Middle Earth.
The impressive reptiles in Tolkien's fantasy are perverse and destructive with anumber of fundamental characteristics: they possess significant magic poers, they can live for thousands of years and are greedy and arrogant - faults which make them vulnerable. They also have very sharp eyesight and a keen sense of smell, and in general they possess considerable physical abilities.
There are different classes of dragon, but the main distinction in whether or not they can fly. Within each of these two species, we envounter fire dragons, capable of projecting enormous flames from their mouths, and dragons of the cold, with icy breath which freezes their victims.
The origin of these terrible creatures can be found in the epic "The Silmarillion", published after the death of Tolkien, which recounts the whole history of his imaginary Middle Earth.
In this work we read about beings created in the First Age by Morgoth.
The first to appear in the chronicles was Glaurung, a fire dragon who could not fly. Glaurung took part in the Battle of the Sudden Flame and in the Battle of the Unnumbered Tears and was finally killed by the hero Thorin.
However, the most terrible of these creatures was Ancalagon the Black, an immense winged fire dragon, who dies in the War of Wrath, felled by a well aimed arrow shot from Earendil, while he was fighting agains the great eagles. It is said that when he fell, the impact of his gigantic body against the mountains of Beleriand caused a cataclysm which changed the geography of Middle Earth.
After the War of Wrath, during the second and third Ages, the dragons took refuge in the remote north, in the region known as the Dead Marshes, or in caves in the Misty Mountains.
From there, from time to time, they descended south and brought chaos and destruction in their wake.
Of all those who remained in Middle Earth, the greatest and the most famous was Smaug, who was also a winged fire dragon. At the end of the Third Age, he devastated the kingdom of the dwarves in Erebor, the lonely mountain, and seized the vast treasure. How and why is told in The Hobbit, where the dwarf Thorin Oakenshield organizes an expedition to recover the treasure stolen by Smaug and to avenge the destruction the dragon wreaked on the dwarves. He fulfills his aim when the Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, manages to trick the dragon and helps Bardo, a human hero, to kill him.
Whereas for J.R.R. Tolkien, the dragon is an evil creature, for Ursula K. Le Guin, the mythical animal is a combination of good and evil qualities. Ged, the wizard, confronted the dragon of Pendor, and made him swear that he would never attack the Archipelago. And the dragon kept his word, for Ged knew his true name, something which in Earthsea confers tremendous power on beasts and wizards alike.
Ursula K. Le Guin's dragons are also the object of adoration and reverence: 'I do not care what comes after; I have seen the dragons on the wind of morning', says Arren, another of the characters.
Magic is the essence of these wise and ancient beings who live on the West Reach of Earthsea. Humans must avoid looking them in the eyes so as not to fall victim to their tricks and spells, but that is easier to say than do. Among the inhabitants of Earthsea are Orm Embar, who dies helping the Archmage Ged, and Kalessin, who helps Ged and Arren return home after completing their dangerous mission in The Farthest Shore. |
