The
latest acquisition of Dodecanese-based Dane Sea Line, her name is that of Lindos town, a beautiful centre on south-east coast of
Rhodes island, and this name was already used for a Ro/Ro purchased in 1985.
She arrived in Greece in October 2000 after 10 years of service in Japan as
“New Tosa”, the, after the refit, entered services on
16/09/01 with the name “Diagoras”, chosen by Anek Board. On winter 2002 she served also ANEK connections
to Heraklion. After the financial difficulties at the
end of 1990’s years, on Summer 2004 Dane Sea Line has again big problems and
the “Diagoras” remained the only ferry serving the
Dodecanese after the mechanical troubles of her fleet-mates “Patmos” and “Rodos”; however her
services ceased at the end of September 2004, when the ship was arrested due to
the unpaid contributions to the Greek Seafarers Provisional Fund and was stated
to auction her. The auction took place on
