My first indoor loop

I have used a 50 wire bus computer cable with a KOLR HIGH GAIN PREAMP. It is a square loop with 1,25 mt side and with 4xBB112 varicap it tunes from 56 kHz (high selectivity) to low part of MF (low selectivity).

The loop has around 10 mH and 53 ohm c.c. resistance.

My wife do not like this ... why not ?

Portable loop

I use a "hula-hop"  (1 mt diameter) with 23 turn of 1,5 mmsq wire. The shield is aluminium foil interrupted (for 2-3 cm). The loop has a 1,26 mH and 1,6 ohm c.c. resistance. With a KOLR HIGH GAIN PREAMP and 4xBB112 varicap it tunes from 123 kHz (high selectivity) to high part of LF band (low selectivity).
