ALON SARIEL, mandolin

Alon Sariel was born in 1986 in Beer-Sheva, in Israel. He began playing the mandolin at the age of eight at the Samuel-Rubin Conservatory of Beer-Sheva. At the year 2004, he graduated under the tutored of Lev Khymovich. Since year 2004 Alon is kindly supported by America – Israel Cultural Foundation. In 2007 finished his studies for first degree in mandolin of the Jerusalem Rubin Academy for Music and Dance. Among the numerous awards Alon won first prize at the Albert and Edna Serni Competitions in Israel, Twice in a row (05' & 06') he won the first prize of the prestijious "Monart Center of Art" Competitions, Alon was awarded first prize at the Jerusalem Music Academy competition for string instruments, and twice in a row (06’ & 07’) won the Jerusalem Music Academy chamber music competition with his baroque trio “Trinidad Ensemble”.
He is a member in several ensembles, among them The Jerusalem Baroque Trio, known also as Trinidad Ensemble which is made of mandolin, recorder and viola da Gamba (often give concerts with live broadcast to Kol-Ha'musica radio station); the International Duo Sariel-Ghilione with the virtuoso Italian guitarist Francesca Ghilione, touring Uk, Italy, Switzerland, Israel and Spain, the Duo-PiaMando, the Balkan Orchestra of the Jerusalem Academy and the Beer-Sheva Mandolin Orchestra (with both orchestras recorded live to the Israeli radio).Alon takes part in most of the main music festivals taking place in Israel, for instance "Sounds in the Desert Festival" and "Kfar Blum Festival" which are also broadcasted through radio and television. At August 2005 Alon was invited to take part in a world music camp Ethno-Cyprus 2005.He participated in the International Mandolin Academy at Savona, Italy, and studied with wide known mandolin players such as Ugo Orlandi and Carlo Aonzo. As Mandolin soloist played Alon with the Jerusalem Radio Symphonic Orchestra, the Israeli Simfonieta, The Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Ashdod chamber orchestra, the Beer-Sheva Mandolin Orchestra and with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra conducted by Daniel Baremboim.

Nato a Beer-Sheva, in Israele, Alon Sariel incomincia a studiare mandolino all’età di otto anni, presso il Conservatorio “Samuel Rubin” di Beer-Sheva, diplomandosi nel 2004 sotto la guida del Maestro Lev Khymovich . Negli anni 1998-99 si trasferisce con la sua famiglia a Los Angeles, dove suona e si confronta con la musica popolare americana, come il country e il blue-grass. Dal 2004 è segnalato e appoggiato dall’ Associazione sostenitrice “America-Israel Cultural Foundation”.Nell’estate 2005 è stato invitato a partecipare al “Word Music Camp Ethno-Cyprus 2005 ” e nel settembre 2006 ha partecipato in Italia, alla “Prima Accademia Mandolinistica Internazionale di Savona” organizzata dal Maestro Carlo Aonzo.Ha ottenuto riconoscimenti nell’ambito di diversi concorsi internazionali: per ben tre volte ha conseguito il I° premio al Concorso “Albert and Edna Serni ” e ha suonato per la televisione Israeliana in occasione di “Mastro Competition”, dedicato ai giovani artisti. Per due volte di seguito, nel 2005 e 2006, ha vinto il prestigioso Concorso “Monart Center of Art” e ha inoltre ottenuto il I° premio, nel 2006 e nel 2007, al “Jerusalem Academy Chamber Music Competition ”. Come Konzert Maister della Beer-Sheva Mandolin Orchestra, con la quale suona dall’età di 10 anni, ha tenuto tournées di concerti in Bulgaria, in Serbia , in Croazia , in Slovacchia e in Austria. Svolge musica da camera in diverse formazioni tra cui principalmente : “Jerusalem Baroque Trio” (mandolino, flauto dolce e viola da gamba), esibendosi di frequente in diretta radiofonica presso la Kol-Ha'musica Radio Station; “International Duo Sariel-Ghilione” con la virtuosa chitarrista italiana Francesca Ghilione, con la quale tiene tournées di concerti in Inghilterra, Italia, Spagna, Svizzera e Israele e il Duo PiaMando .Ha partecipato ai più importanti Festival musicali in Israele tra cui "Sounds in the Desert Festival" e "Kfar Blum Festival" suonando in diretta radiofonica e televisiva. Inoltre collabora, in qualità di mandolino solista, con diverse orchestre tra cui: Folk-Orchestra of the Music Academy, Israeli Sinfonietta, Israeli Chamber Orchestra, Ashdod Chamber Orchestra, Balkan Orchestra con le quali ha spesso suonato in diretta per la Radio Nazionale Israeliana e, recentemente, con la West-Eastern Divan Orchestra diretta da Daniel Barenboim effettuando una tourné di concerti in tutta Europa .Nel 2007 si è laureato brillantemente presso la prestigiosa “Rubin Academy of Music and Dance” di Gerusalemme. |

FRANCESCA GHILIONE, guitar

Born in Savona, Italy, in 1982, Francesca Ghilione began her guitar studies at the age of 11 with Dario Caruso. After graduating “summa cum laude” from the “Niccolò Paganini” Conservatoire in Genova at the age of 18, she furthered her studies in Switzerland with Roberto Porroni and in Italy with Maurizio Colonna in Ancona, and with Paolo Pegoraro and Stefano Viola at the Francisco Tarrega Academy in Pordenone. In 2006 she was the first candidate in her region to receive the academic Diploma (2nd level) in Guitar Interpretation and Composition under the guidance of Giuseppe Briasco and Bruno Bertone. For this diploma she presented a thesis and a concert dedicated to the guitarists of the Romantic period for which she was awarded the highest marks with distinction. Her playing has been recognized with awards at National and International Competitions. In 2000 she was selected for the “European Guitar and Mandolin Young Orchestra”
In July 2001 she was chosen to participate at the V Festival “Best graduates of Italy” where in a concert at Castrocaro Terme she was voted the best Italian guitarist of 2000 year. Over the past few years she has been researching, studying and playing in her recitals the works of lesser known South American guitar-composers, assimilating their styles and techniques, recently recording her first solo guitar album Alma Impresíones argentinas para guitarra. She gives frequent concerts both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles in Italy and abroad including Switzerland, Germany, England, Israel and Spain. She is the solo guitarist with the Ligurian Plucked Instrument Orchestra conducted by Carlo Aonzo which has a busy performing and recording schedule (Savona, Genoa, Ferrara, Foligno, Rome - live telecast coverage from St. Pietro Square, in the presence of Pope John Paul II- Italian Swizerland Radio…).In 2004 she has collaborated with the Symphonic Orchestra of Savona during the Lyrical Summer Season. She regularly plays with a number of well known international musicians among whom the Israeli virtuoso mandolin player, Alon Sariel (International Duo Sariel-Ghilione) and the harpsichordist, Tiziana Canfori, the soprano Mariola Jupé and the cellist Benjamin Grütter .This stems from her interest in proposing original and unusual musical programs and formations. She plays a guitar made by Enrico Bottelli in 2005.

Francesca Ghilione, nata nel 1982 a Savona ha incominciato a studiare chitarra all'età di undici anni sotto la guida del M° Dario Caruso, diplomandosi, nel 2000, appena diciottenne, con il massimo dei voti al Conservatorio "Niccolò Paganini" di Genova. Per alcuni anni ha partecipato ai Meisterkurses estivi “Musica e Natura” del M° Roberto Porroni in Val Bregaglia (Svizzera) dove, ben quattro volte, ha conseguito il premio assoluto per la migliore esecuzione. Ha frequentato l’Accademia Musicale “Nuovi Orizzonti Dorica F. Chopin” di Ancona, studiando con il Maestro Maurizio Colonna e si è perfezionata presso la prestigiosa Accademia Chitarristica “F. Tarrega” di Pordenone, con i Maestri Paolo Pegoraro e Stefano Viola. Ha ottenuto primi premi e riconoscimenti nell'ambito di vari Concorsi nazionali e internazionali. Nel 2000 è stata selezionata per partecipare alla "European Guitar and Mandolin Young Orchestra" che raccoglie giovani musicisti di talento provenienti da Italia, Spagna, Germania, Francia e Inghilterra. Nel luglio 2001 è stata scelta per partecipare alla V Rassegna Musicale “Migliori Diplomati d’Italia” esibendosi presso il Padiglione delle Terme di Castrocaro e risultando la migliore chitarrista italiana diplomata del 2000. Svolge sia attività didattica sia attività concertistica, come solista ed in formazioni da camera , esibendosi in Italia e all’estero (Svizzera, Germania, Inghilterra, Israele, Spagna..). Fa parte, con ruolo di prima chitarra e chitarra solista, dell’ Orchestra Ligure di Strumenti a Pizzico diretta dal M° Carlo Aonzo che vanta un’intensa attività musicale e discografica, esibendosi in varie località italiane (Ala di Trento, Ferrara, Genova, La Spezia, Sanremo, Roma (2002-diretta televisiva da Piazza San Pietro) e a Lugano per la Radio Svizzera Italiana. Nel 2004 ha collaborato con l'Orchestra Sinfonica di Savona nell'ambito della Stagione Lirica Estiva. Nell'ambito solistico si dedica alla ricerca e allo studio di musiche rare e poco conosciute appartenenti a compositori-chitarristi sudamericani, approfondendone stili e tecniche d’esecuzione, incidendo quest’anno il suo primo album “Alma- Impresíones argentinas para guitarra”.Collabora con diversi musicisti di fama internazionale tra cui principalmente il virtuoso mandolinista israeliano Alon Sariel (International Duo Sariel-Ghilione), la clavicembalista Tiziana Canfori, la soprano Mariola Jupé, il violoncellista Benjamin Grütter per promuovere programmi e formazioni musicali originali e inconsueti. Nel luglio 2006 ha conseguito, sotto la guida del Maestro Giuseppe Briasco e del Maestro Bruno Bertone, il Diploma Accademico di II° livello in Chitarra ad indirizzo Interpretativo-Compositivo presso il Conservatorio “N. Paganini” di Genova con la votazione di 110 e lode presentando una tesi un concerto dedicati ai chitarristi dell’epoca romantica. |
