These are hard topics
to talk about, all we know has been manipulated by journalists so who knows
what’s true?… First of all we wanna say we’re not going to talk about drugs,
Slash quitted abusing drugs since many years now and if he still uses some
every now and then we don’t know so…we can’t talk about it! So…let’s quit with
drugs and pass 
over!!!!
But SLASH’s only
addiction isn’t or wasn’t drugs, alcohol also plays a good part in this scene!
He said he started to drink when he was only 12 years old and still now he
seams to drink a lot!
Read what he said :”
It is a habit I picked up when I was 12 years old. It helps me, it brings me
out of my shell. Because I cannot deal with people in a social situation when
I’m sober. If I don’t have a drink, I sink into myself. And I like it! I like
being drunk, it’s fun. I’m usually quite a good drinker, though I admit I can
be a bit obnoxious when I’m drunk sometimes”
and “I drink a bottle of Jack Daniel’s a day. Am I
gonna die?” Well this is what he
once said in 1988 so we are allowed to think and believe that some things have
changed in the meantime, 12 years are not a second!!!
We think that growing older and wiser he now can deal
pretty well with people even when he is sober!
“I used to love to get
just fucking drunk! I used it to escape a bad day. Sometimes, I’d much rather
just go home, sit down with a glass or something and kick back and go to sleep.
I really don’t feel that I have the intense addiction that people believe”
(July 1991)
But what does he prefer to drink?
Blueberry vodka is
known to be one of his favourite but the most famous SLASH’s drinks are Jack
Daniel’s whiskey and Black Death Vodka … he’s been pictured many times with
t-shirts and bottles or different kinds of gadgets of these two drinks… but
Linda told us his favourite vodka is stolichyna and now listen what he answers about

“I advertise smoking constantly anyway, and I can’t
help it”…and cigarettes are again something that seams SLASH can’t live without!
When he was starting up with Guns n’ roses he even smoke to 
get paid…easy job SLASH wasn’t it?
“ I remember Axl and I
once volunteered as medical test subjects for UCLA thinking we’d get pills or
something. But it was just a smoking test and all we got was some free
cigarettes. We had to smoke and smoke and we’d get eight bucks an hour for
doing that…it was better then nothing.” (June 1992)
Marlboro are his favourite ones, we have a couple of
shots of him with a Marlboro t-shirt but he doesn’t always smoke the same…check
the picture!
To many things that
SLASH likes has been dedicated a particular section in this page so we’re not
going to talk about 
them again…but… what about SLASH’s wear? Tight jeans
or black leather pants are his favourite, he has a very practical way of
dressing, he likes to say he dresses quickly, we don’t know about it because
despite of the casual look he has he always rolls up the sleeves of his
t-shirts thing that I 
personally LOVE! And uses cute particular belts and
hats that should take some time to choose!!!
Anyway our compliment
for your look SLASH that is original without being eccentric!!!!
Just like u are man! U
come out of the bunch for your talent, creativity and energy, not for what you
wear!
But…let’s give a
little more attention to his favourite hat…his TOP HAT!!!! He once saw it in a
shop window in
The silver belt it has on was putted there by SLASH
himself who cut a belt! Now he uses Haberdashery signature top hats and has the
belt made for him, he says he usually pays 50 or 60$ for a top hat so watch out
if you wanna buy one don’t pay it too much!
SLASH said he has
always been into hats since he was a kid and he also said he started to use the
top hat as a shield, following the old adage “if I can’t see you, you can’t see
me”!!! Just the same as for the guitar… this guy is SO SHY!
Now the top hat can’t
be anymore something behind what he could hide, it makes him more recognizable
then ever so… he doesn’t wear it on public but in special occasion like the
mardi gras parade in New Orleans or the new years eve at the white house!
In an interview of the end of 1999 SLASH remembered
that when he went to school in England he always met in the fog the lollypop
guy…J so you r greedy! Yup and he likes candies a lot and
particularly gummies candy!!!(Again and
again thanks to Linda!)

Talking about eating we also know he likes going out
with friends and eat somewhere in locals like Backed potato…oh well maybe
that’s only to play SLASH? The LA strip is full of interesting cool clubs to
hang around in the night and one of his favourite is the RAINBOW bar and gill,
the perfect place to go and relax with friends!
If u walk outside the local u can have a look of the
golden plate that was putted on the pavement on July 1998, the picture is the
one at the right, we shot it the very first day it was putted down!!! (Click on
the image to see it bigger) And also you can see a good number of small
pictures of the owner of the club together with famous people that came
there…we could count 3 SLASH!!!
And this should be one
of his favourite clubs if he has a number of photos wearing the rainbow t-shirt
and Guns n’ Roses went there to film a part of the “Estranged” video.
Then u can go inside
and WOW!!! You would rather stay there and wait till SLASH comes! People r so
nice and friendly! And they like to talk about SLASH and joke with whom comes
in to askà quite many people I’ve seen!!! And from all over the
world, from
Inside the local u can found a lot about SLASH, it’s
such a pity not to find him!!!

Sunset strip has a lot
for night people and SLASH is definitely a night man! U can also find good
places to have a tattoo made late at night… oh well who wouldn’t open a local
for SLASH? Many people like him around there! Anyway he likes piercing (he has
his ears his nose and his belly pierced) and tattoos!!! SLASH has many tattoos,
they were 4 since few days ago when he had the 5th one done, still nobody
have seen it but he told it to Linda… we have such a curiosity! But we’ve been
happy to hear that it is a small one and that he doesn’t like all tattooed
bodies!
The cutest thing about SLASH’s tattoos is that he
almost draw them or they’re very strictly related to him… we’re not going to
put here pictures of the tattoos because we’re sure you all know them pretty
well!!! The first time we saw the Snakepit tattoo was in 1995 when we saw him
live in
Then, to embellish
what is already so handsome and sexy, SLASH likes to wear bracelets and
necklaces and rings, all silver jewellery, a lot of silver jewellery!!!
Oh!!! We were forgiving to talk about books…our knowledge
is very poor about what kind of books he like to read but we know he does and
that one of his favourite is “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, we’ve also read
it and it’s FUNNY! So SLASH if u have anything else to suggest please do it!
The book is about a
couple of very much drug addicted people going to
Beside being a music
maker SLASH also likes listening to the music! He always says he never listen
to his own music, once he releases a record he puts it aside… you loose
something SLASH!!!!! We could listen to them all life long and never get
tired!!!!
Well anyway you all surely know who are his favourite
artists from Joe Perry to Jimi Hendrix passing through Jimmy Page, the Rolling
Stones, Van Halen, Jeff Beck, the Black Sabbath and the Sex Pistols and Cat
Stevens and on and on… but probably you don’t know he pretty much appreciates
Erik Satie who is an old french pianist … did you know? No? Then we were right!
This is the reason why we wanted to put here a little part of “3 Gymnopédies”
that is his most famous opera.

Today,
Many things have
changed in the these last years!!!
In fact SLASH has 2
new tattoos! One on his left forearm is a big rose with “Perlita” written on
it, and the second one is a big
Lately SLASH revealed in an interview that he is going
to have another one done for the new band (VR) and … do you think he’ll be
missing having a tattoo for his second born Cash?
Well, considering he
once said he doesn’t like people all covered by tattoos he has a big bunch of
them!
And that’s not all!
In the last … maybe 4 years SLASH definitely changed
his life style, he has no more snakes at home, they can be dangerous for the
babies! He tried to stop drinking as suggested by doctors back then in 2000
when he was in hospital for pneumonia, but he didn’t actually stop, just, he
says, he drinks only a little, and now Guinness is one of his favourite … he
thinks that it helped conceiving London!!!
Then, a couple of
years later, when London was born and Cash was on his way, he also tried to
stop smoking…he paid 350$ for hypnosis … SLASH said he did it because of his
sons but it only lasted a short time and we can already see him again with his
cig between the lips and the packet in his hand!
SLASH also had some changes in his look that (luckily)
lasted for a short time!
He left aside his
funny t-shirts for some…delicate shirts…???

Let’s talk about the top hat now!
Somewhere
has been written that SLASH won’t be no more using the top hat now, that’s not
true!
He only
said the top hat was something to hide behind (like hairs), now he feels the need
of hiding only every now and then so he only wears the top hat in a few
occasions, but it always is close to him when he is performing…just in case!
We love the top hated
SLASH!!!
Since everybody started talking so much about Scott
(Weiland) addiction to heroin also SLASH decided to spend few words about his
experience, which he always kept quite private before, world entertainment news
network reports that SLASH quitted heroin when he realized it would have
affected his playing, although it took sometimes… He started out in early GnR
days and soon elected heroin to his favourite drug, he suppose that the
personality of people using heroin is that of
shy guys trying to be cool and relaxed, but it takes you to such a low
point that you don’t have any more self-esteem…
