It has been
a blasting holiday for us!
New years
eve in
In the afternoon we went to get the
tickets at the Hard Rock Hotel and while waiting we met Duff who was going
upstairs with his wife, he was nice and friendly and we shot a pic with him (SIGH the only one in 5 films to be bad!!!),
then also David passed along but he gave us no attention…
We very
much hoped to see SLASH but he didn’t show up.
So let’s go
back to new years night, after celebrating the new year on the strip, with a
lot of people just having fun and joking and counting down 9,8,7,… and all the
spectacular fire works it was time for the after party at the body English
where Velvet Revolver were hosting!
We had big
troubles to get there, we waited ages for a taxi that never came (even if in
the morning at the hotel they assured us there wouldn’t be troubles) and, at
last we had to give up and RUN from the
We got there at
We had the
chance of meeting Matt when he went to the bathroom, he was so very nice, very
excited to hear that we went from
Thanks Matt
for being so sweet!
Then we met Perla, even she was very nice, we just
had a short talk, shook hands and we mind for not having asked a picture
together!!!
A few minutes after talking to Perla she and SLASH surrounded by very many security men
went out of the VIP room in a hurry I guess, I tried to call SLASH but a
security guy stopped me hardly and I gave up, even because I had the bad
sensation that someone wasn’t feeling well … (later, when back to Italy I read
that one of SLASH’s cat was in life danger)
So let’s go
straight to the night after, to the concert!
At
At
No words
would ever be enough to describe it!
It was a blast!
It was the
best concert ever!
The band
was at its best, they all rocked hard and looked happy and at ease!
SLASH was
smiling and talking and joking… so cool!
The set
list was very long, all the contraband songs but headspace and loving the
aliens were played plus 3 GnR and 2 STP covers and
Surrender too!!!
17
incredible songs!
The solos for Illegal I and Slither were superlative and the acoustic Used to
love her was so cool with that intro…
What to say
about Dirty little thing played for the first time live?
And You’ve got no right?
People got
out of their mind when SLASH played it with his double neck!!!!!!!!!
The end was
also too cool!
SLASH (then
followed by Duff) left his Gibson on feedback laying on the monitors and all
the band went away…
2 things
more I have to point out, the first are the 2 new tattoos SLASH showed up, the
CASH writing on his paunch and the contraband silhouette on his right forearm,
and the other one is that SLASH is again the undiscussed
star of the band, everybody there noticed it! He is the man!
