Duff out of VR?
Yesterday during a conference press in L.A. Duff Mckagan announced his
departure from the band.
He said he was displeased with the band at present and that all of the members
were not getting along. "There was always conflict and the musical
creativity’s gone. Fans are not taking us seriously."
Some sources have stated that Mckagan called Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose
during the afternoon of Thursday April 4th and had a long chat with him,
weather or no he is to re-join Guns N’ Roses is still a doubt, but a
possibility.
The new Guns N’Roses management stated that Chinese Democracy will be
out sometime during the next two weeks.

Slash said that the band are “relieved” that
Scott Weiland is no longer part of the group, he said people think it is because
of the STP reunion but it’s not, it is something they were thinking about but
they couldn’t do before because of many commitment to fulfill.
Scott named Sebastian Bach as a possible new
singer and SLASH said he thought he could be a little more imaginative!

Hey!It's such a long time!
Ok I need to do my coming out, to
explain the reasons for my having been away for such a long time!
The first one is a great reason and it's
my daughter who's very demanding, she's 11 months old now!
And the other one is... ops I know...I
have to say it... I never really liked Velvet Revolver!!!But I never really
wanted to write things against SLASH's band.
In these days in Italy there is a lot of
talking about the release of the new Vasco Rossi record, Vasco is the biggest
italian rocker, n' SLASH played on it, one song... ”hey Vasco do you like it
more strong or more light?””I like more strong man” then SLASH entered the
studio and Vasco didn't see him again but when he listened to the solo he said
he was speechless only said “WOW SLASH!”
You all know what he meant, the song was
SLASHED as I say, SLASH can slash all the music he plays but...Velvet
Revolver's...
I mean I don't want to say that VR is a
bad band, it is good, it rocks...but we had a standard, SLASH made us used to a
very high standard and VR were right UNDER this standard!
This is my point of view of course, so I
feel free to go on and try to tell you what for me was the reason why this band
wasn't what we were expecting: Scott Weiland! After all the rest of the guy but
one were in Gn'R so we know they were perfect together!
Ok maybe many of you already knew that I
don't like him but I'll tell you all, I really can't understand how they could
choose him as a singer!!!
He would need an iron lung, maybe this
way he could breath enough deep, he is unpleasant to look at, he is completely
out of the bunch, he is... ...too grunge?
Ok let's call it this way but he doesn't
fit with SLASH!
SLASH is always been passion, energy,
strength, soul... where is all that in VR? C'mon can a “tapeworm abortion”
inspire something nice?
Ok his wife was Duff's wife best friend
but hey!!!
I want to go on and say SLASH left
behind incredible, fantastic singers because of their attitude and because of
their drugs habits and then???What was that made Scott different?
At list Axl could sing!
At least Axl has an unforgettable voice,
a power, an energy an ability to talk about feelings, at least Axl is pleasant
and exciting to see live! (I went to see him twice in 2006, I was very upsetted
by the band but so happy to have seen him live!)
You don't like Axl?
You could never stand him?
Let's talk about Rod then! About the
power, the passion, the grit of this stage animal!
What has Scott instead?
Only a too big ego... little little
talent and a lot of arrogance...really I don't understand...
Axl was insane, he slammed the mic on
stage and walked off.. ahah and what did Scott do recently?
Ok I'll stop for now, I only want to add
that I'm looking forward for a SLASH solo record!
He is talking a lot about it lately and
I can't wait...and for the Vasco Rossi record that will be out on march 28th
too of course!

VR will appear this Wednesday, May 23, on Fuse.tv's live show 'The
Sauce'. We don’t know if the band will perform or do an interview, but it is
expected that Fuse will premiere the band's brand new video for 'She Builds
Quick Machines'. The Sauce starts at 6PM ET.
The video was shot in a Mexican town and looks like it will be like an
action thriller!

In an interview SLASH admitted

Looks like Scott announced that the first single from “Libertad” will be
“She builds quick machines” while SLASH revealed something about the art-cover
of the album!
It will feature the controversial Chilean 10 pesos coin which depicts an
angel breaking its chains.
SLASH also announced the intention of the band to abandon the STP (J) and Guns n’ Roses (L) covers during the next
European tour, they’ll keep playing them in south America since they never
played them before.

“Classic Rock” magazine SLASH recently went into rehab, you can read about Duff
saying ”Slash is in the best mindspace I've know him since we were 19 years
old. It's great to see. The few months before [he went into rehab] were pretty
scary. But he's sought help and done the hard work. He's faced some shit and

Today VR will perform two songs for the Van Halen
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The band will honor both David
Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar by playing a song from their respective eras: for
Roth, they will play 1978's "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", and for Hagar
they'll play "Runaround" from 1991. The event will be broadcasted by
VH1 classic and streamed on AOL.

Grammy-nominated
rocker Sarah Kelly recently met up with guitar legend Slash at his
Clink introduced Slash to Kelly's music -- and he immediately jumped
onboard to record two amazing guitar solos on the project including "Still
Breathing" and "Out Of Reach." Slash comments: "I was blown

Spirit of Life Awards gala in Hollywood on October 5th, and soon, on
October 14th, they’ll be performing for a concert/fundraiser for
deputy Jim Mulay, who was critically injured, while on duty, during the
attempted apprehension of an armed bank robbery suspect on August 28th

their new version of Cheap Trick's 'Surrender' on NBC-TV's The Tonight Show

While working with
VR on the new record and performing a few live gigs and playing on “In the
summertime” with Billy Idol and Derek Sherinian (that is really cool indeed)…
well beside all that he found the time to design a backpack for eastpak, SLASH,
Ozzy Osbourne and Lemmy from Motorhead designed each a limited edition backpack
and 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the charity nominated by the 3
artists via the charity organization www.whateverittakes.org.

According to
Blabbermouth Matt Sorum revealed in an interview to ABC that no producer has been
chosen at this point, but the band has been speaking with Rick Rubin
(AUDIOSLAVE, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, SYSTEM OF A DOWN, SLAYER, SLIPKNOT), hoping
to get him to come on board for the project.
We've been talking to Rick Rubin," Sorum revealed. "So hopefully
he's gonna come on board, because I think he's just a great song guy. And his
advice to us, which was great advice, was, 'Write as many songs as possible.'
He's listened to a lot of our riffs and different parts that we have. He's a
very honest guy, and even if he doesn't produce us, he's given us a good sense
of what we need to go for, and that's just great songs."
And he also added "you know, Scott said something about a concept
album," Sorum told ABC Radio's ePrep. "But you know, the concept is let's
get it done, you know what I mean? (laughs)"

Ready for the new
album?
Matt has posted the following message on his official blog:
"Have been hard at work on the new VELVET REVOLVER stuff. We have been
working five days a week for the last month. And have about 10 songs worked up.
Going to work in my studio for another couple of weeks. Then start rehearsing
for our mini-tour of the West Coast. Then back in the studio to complete the
album."

On June 11 2006
SLASH along with his wife Perla and his two children London and Cash recived
the Rock Angel award from the L.A. Hollywood Rock Accademy in recognition of
his assistance with their inner city music charity program, after accepting his award, Slash played on a blistering version of
Velvet Revolver's "Slither" with graduating kids, average age 12.

WOW SLASH you’re so super!
We’ve listened to the radio show at
SLASH and Matt were sweet and in a good mood!
And guys a lot of things were cleared up!
At least HE SPOKE! And we were all waiting for it to happen!
SLASH and Perla are
not splitting
SLASH denied rumours about him visiting axl to bitch about Matt, Scott
et. al.
SLASH denied the rumour of possible reunion, he doesn’t speak to Axl since
1997.
SLASH said that he talked about the MARCH date release for Chinese because
someone close to GNR told him, so he told somebody else, didn’t expect that to
be so important and fans to take it THAT seriously.
SLASH is still in VR and very happy with VR.
Pharrel and Lenny Kravitz presence in next CD would be not strong, or they
might not even contribute to the creation of it, actually they still have to
choose the producer.
VR DVD release is imminent. Final arrangments are being made. No release date
though, actually they have no idea on why is not out yet.
SLASH did some work on the score for an upcoming movie

A new episode of
the “GnR, is it a reunion?” story!
Look at this picture, it is the official one used to promote the dutch
show of this summer GnR european tour: old logo, a big SLASH picture and Axl,
SLASH n’ Duff present but not trace of Izzy or Steve that have been cutted out
of the picture … could it mean something?
Let’s add that there are rumors about a reunion of the Tommy Stinson
(bassman in GnR) old band.
We’re not going to get any conclusion of course… the guys are still
keeping mouths closed about it all and they’ll have the last word!

Matt and Duff went in studio and apparently took care of wrinting great
riffs for SLASH???!!!!
Read what Matt posted in his Sorum Forum…
"Had a great day in Drac Studios today working with Duff on some
songs. We are coming up with some breakthrough stuff. I'm getting excited. One
song sounds like a cross between Zeppelin and Prince. Duff loves Prince. Great
riff for Slash. Today we did one that is very heavy with a sick groove. With
some synth keyboard part.”

First of all Matt said he has been in rehab, and we know how SLASH feels
about playing with guys who are into drugs, maybe the tensions between the
drummer and our man were also related to this and not only to women in the
backstage…
Second but not less important or maybe MORE relevant, Matt and Scott
said that for VR last concerts only SLASH did soundchecks, that he is guitar
playing addicted and that after one year plus one year and a half or touring
they do not need soundchecks … I think no comment is needed for this one.
Duff McKagan has
also responded to the press release issued last week by W. Axl Rose.
"I think, you know, a lot of it's really unfortunate, very
difficult," he said in an interview conducted last Friday (March 10).
"I've always just wanted to make great music and that's what I plan on
doing. As far as a rebuttal to what he said, or what Slash has said, I won't
get involved in a war of words, you know. People say all kinds of stuff and I'm
not going to be one of them."
Nice talking Duff!!!
A VELVET REVOLVER spokesperson told MTV.com that Slash would issue his
own response within days.

DVD will be released soon!
According to a posting by Matt Sorum on his Sorum Forum, VR are putting
their final touches on a DVD release.
It should be from a show they recorded on June 18
According to Duff VR will be in studio from April 10 to start recording
the second album, still nobody say “hey world! SLASH is still in VR!” or “Hey
World! SLASH is back in GnR!”
Of course not even SLASH is saying anything about it…

ROLLING STONE magazine makes a review of new GnR demos that have been
circulating in the net in the last weeks, the reviews ends up like this :
“Hey, Axl, put the thing out it already sounds better than Velvet
Revolver.”

It’s still impossible
to clear up what’s happening in GnR…
A statement released Monday (March 6) by Rose's management, the
Sanctuary Group, called Slash's remarks "surprising" and dubbed him
"a consummate press, photo and media opportunist and manipulator" who
"has attacked Axl Rose on a number of levels."… …
…"Slash has continually made negative and malicious statements
about Axl [in the press] in order to garner publicity for himself" and
that both musicians have made "numerous false allegations about Axl ...
[and that] Mr. Rose believes that once apprised of the true facts, the judge or
jury deciding these lawsuits will rule in Axl's favor on every issue before
them." (I followed every word SLASH said in 10 years and can’t remember
all this malicious statements… N.D.A.)
The most recent suit filed against Axl, according to the statement,
"attacks [his] integrity as Slash and Duff, in a vindictive attempt to
aggrandize their own stature, rewrite history through false statements, which
have been repeated by the media. Their attacks on Axl stand in sharp contrast
to Rose's conduct. Axl has at all times worked diligently to maintain the
artistic integrity of the band by choosing with great care which properties to
license Guns N' Roses songs to.
"Moreover, the
statement claims Slash showed up uninvited at Axl's door early one morning in
October to offer a truce. "Slash came to inform Axl that: 'Duff was
spineless,' '[Velvet Revolver frontman] Scott [Weiland] was a fraud,' that he
'hates [Revolver drummer] Matt Sorum' and that in this ongoing war, contest or
whatever anyone wants to call it that Slash has waged against Axl for the
better part of 20 years, that Axl has proven himself 'the stronger.'
"…(Well didn’t Axl recently say that he never spoke with SLASH since Nov.
1995??? N.D.A.)
"Axl regrets having to spend time and energy on these distractions,
but he has a responsibility to protect the Guns N' Roses legacy and expose the
truth," Howard Weitzman, Axl's attorney, said in the statement. "Axl
believes he has been left with no alternative but to respond to these lawsuits.
It would have been Axl's preference to resolve disputes with Slash and Duff in
private. The courthouse is not his choice of forum. However, Axl could no
longer sit quietly and allow the continuing dissemination of falsehoods and
half-truths by his former bandmates."
A spokesperson for Slash, McKagan and Velvet Revolver said the band had
no comment.

SLASH is so “Chinese democracy” focused!
Speaking to ABC News Radio at Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party last week
Sorum revealed that VELVET REVOLVER are planning to move in a different
direction on their new album, which has the working title of
"Libertad".
"Our first album was very aggressive and just in-your-face. and we
made it very quickly," Sorum explained. "And this album we just
really want to, like, you know, we want to pull it back a bit, groove a little
harder, [make it] a little more danceable. We've talked about working with people
like [pop superstar] Pharrell [Williams] just for the… just to check it out. I
mean, it's not rock and roll, but it might be different. Who knows?! I don't
know."

SLASH talks again about
Chinese Democracy!
During the Christian O'Connell's Virgin breakfast show, Slash confirmed
that the record is done and he said a "very official source" had
already heard it.
He added: "Yeah its going to happen, I've been made aware it's been
heard.
"I'm really excited, it's been a long time waiting to see what the
next step around the corner was going to be for him (Axl), we know where
everybody else is, but we were wondering what he was going to be doing. It's
coming out in March and apparently it sounds great."
Tracks slated to appear on the 13 track album include 'Better', 'There
Was A Time' and 'The Blues'.
Although Axl and Slash have not spoken in the last 10 years, the velvet
revolver guitarist said he was pleased that the record is finally going to see
the light of day.
He added: "I've always been supportive over that thing, even though
it's been turned in to a big controversial blah blah blah thing.
"When I left I was pretty pissed off for having to leave in the
first place. After a while all the boo-haha that was stirred and all the
negative press, sort of went in his direction, so I'm just waiting for the
record to come out, so I'm glad where it's got to the point that that's
happening."
In the meaning Axl
is having fun around USA, first he was spotted in Las Vegas and more recently
he was in NY city where it seams he is having a lot of fun!

and you know what that means right?
MS: Yep, you guys cut your wrists when you were little kids, and put
them together to let blood exchange.
SA: Yes, exactly. And I’ll always love him, and I miss him, and I’m
gonna kick his little fanny when I see him. All these bands he puts together,
after he doesn’t say anything about them throwing me out, he never even gives
me a chance to play even one song on the records. I mean not even, you know,
call me and ask me to be a part of the band.
MS: To be a guest or something?
SA: But, not even, dude, not even calling me to play, to be the drummer in the
band, hurt me bad enough, but not even to come in and play one song.
MS: You sound sad when you talk…
SA: But see, but see, but see he’s a, he’s an asshole. But see I don’t mean
that in a bad way. Because even when we were kids, when we were eleven, twelve,
thirteen years, he was an asshole then. But, that, but he’s the coolest guy.
But, that’s how he has to be successful. If you want to be successful you can’t
be a nice guy. “

talked about an imminent release of Chinese Democracy, the long waited new GnR
album, in a radio inteview, ehere you are what he said:
Slash: Axl's got a record coming out, Guns I guess you call it, I think
in March.
Which is sorta cool, you know it's gonna be interesting to hear it.
After all this time and after all this talk what's going on with him.
DJ: So wait, Chinese Democracy is gonna come out?
Slash: Yeah, it's coming out in March...
DJ: OK..
Slash: That's what... I've been told a lot of things over the years, but it
definitely sounds like it's coming out in March.
DJ: We've been waiting forever.
Slash: Which means Velvet Revolver probably in March, April, May. Will be
coming out somewhere around that time. It'll be interesting.
DJ: Yeah, I was gonna say your record will probably come out first.
Slash: No, no... Yeah, well. All things considered, it could. That could
happen, but... Judging by, I think Axl's record is finished.
And he added:
"I haven't really talked to him
directly, but we're not at each others throats or anything like that, just to
kill all of that bad blood that people keep recreating. God, it's been going on
for 10 years. He and I have never had a conversation, an argument...over that
whole 10 years, and people have been generating all this animosity. But at this
point there's no friction going on."
