So this has been my forth time at Astoria, OR. The news is that this time I wasn’t alone but with a little group of people. My parents and my brother Fabrizio. Dario, who I met online on this web page few years ago (he came there for the second time, the 1st was in the 2005 for the Reunion). And Max, called “Full life”, another great and crazy fan of The Goonies.
I have to say that Astoria has been only one of the many places we visited in this tour. However someone of us said: so finally we are at our destination, Astoria. All the other places we visited before (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, etc.) weren’t anything. This is the true reason of our trip! Eh eh eh. No, I don’t think it’s true. We visited many beautiful places but Astoria…is always Astoria!
I’d like to say another important question. I went four times to Astoria, and maybe I’ll be back there many times again. However the reason is not only for the Goonies, as many people think. Yes, the Goonies is my favourite movie and I love it, but there are another two important reasons. I like the beautiful town and the place around it. And Mickey, my wonderful “Goonie mom”, lives at Astoria. And every time I went there I feel like at home…Davide
