B94-99 Sicilian - Najdorf with Bg5

Opening Data Base

6.Bg5 is the more complex and theoretically difficult reply against the Najdorf: White attacks the opponent's King but is exposed to Black's counterplay.  Knowledge of the several sharp lines and tacitcal capability are requested to deal with this variation. As As White by playing 6.Bg5 you are likely to face a theoretical battle against Black's pet variation and that's why many players avoid 6.Bg5 preferring the other available alternatives.

Below you can download a collection of recent chess games played with the 6.Bg5 system of the Najdorf defence.
