Hiking around Pilato lake

Here you can see a few snapshot from one of the best hikes on the Sibillini Mounts National Park.

Starting point is "Capanna Ghezzi" (1570 m), few Km away from Castelluccio (PG), the roundtrip is relatively short and takes about 6-7 hours to be complete, maximum altitude is 2448 mt. The 1st hour, is dedicated to reach Forca Viola (1936 m), here starts a ring that is really scenic, in the first half you will reach the Pilato Lake (1940 m), a lake that is unique in the world because here lives a crustacean (chirocefalo del Marchesoni) that cannot be found elsewhere in the world. In the second part you will rise up to 2400 m and have a hike on the highest muntain of the Sibillini group, a really wonderful path.

This is only a short introduction, if you're interested in knowing more about this hike or on other ones you can write me I will be happy to help you. Another option is to visit the Park official site, you will find historical, cultural info with some useful suggestion.

Norway & Sweden

Two great countries that worths a long visit, I've stayed there for 2 weeks and I've traveled for 3000 Km: Stockholm, Mora, Røros, Ålesund, Bergen, Oslo are the cities I've seen, but the most impressive part of the trip has been the nature: lakes, forests & reindeers in Sweden, rocky & wild mountains, waterfalls and fjords in Norway. An unforgettable trip. Really.

If you're interested in knowing more about this trip you can write me I will be happy to help you. I stongly recommend the Lonely Planet Torn Tree, where people has been really happy to give me a lot of infos and tips on the trip.

This has been my first travel with my wife, I've to say that I expected so much from this travel that I was a little bit disappointed when I come back home: why ? not for the country itself, that is really beautiful, not for the food, really strange for me but also good, not for peple, they were really pleasant and helpful, not for accomodations, there are really fantastic hotels there, it was for they historical and cultural heritage: they had so much and they've destroyed so much ! each cultural or not cultural revolution has destroyed the cultural heritage of the prevous one... still there are a lot of places to see (Beijing, Xian, Suzhou, ... 2 weeks are enough for a savour only) but there are a lot of places that none will never see. And this still makes me sad.
